	Young kittens should not be adopted as “only pets.”  These babies need the play skills, comfort, and social skillbuilding that can only come from living with another cat or kitten.  We work with adopters to educate them in this regard and do not place one small kitten alone in a home.  An existing family cat serves the need, although people often return for a second youngster after discovering that the little one is driving a more sedate, older cat nuts.  Babies need much more playtime for good health than the average person understands and suffer from the lack thereof when adopted alone.  People are not equipped to supply the many hours of rough and tumble exercise that a second kitten can, nor should they assume that role.  Exercise aside, the comfort of another animal to a kitten just removed from its littermates is simply humane. ~Cat Fancy June or July 2009
	Gracie       DSH dark gray Russian Blue mixed female.  Approx DOB early April 2010. Gracie was sighted up a tree at a golf course and left for 4 days crying before someone got her down.  Once down they called PAWS (why they didn't call when first sighted we don't know?) By this time she was very dehydrated and starved.  She was older than 6 weeks because her eyes had changed but only weighed 11 oz.  By this age kittens should be much heavier.  We had to administer fluids and force feed her for several days before she could eat on her own.  Gracie is almost ready for her new home.  She needs to gain a few more ounces before we can have her spayed, but then she'll be ready to go home.  Gracie has Chaz and Chance as her playmates.              Contact Karen at: [email protected]
	Chance    DOB 3/20/10 DSH neutered male buff tabby tuxedo.           He was born into a home with so many cats that the homeowner had little money to care properly for.  PAWS got an emergency call that one of the litters of kittens was dying, so a volunteer went and got the litter.  They had so many fleas that they had sucked all of the kittens blood (flea anemia) and the kittens were dying.  The entire litter were given fluids and force fed, but all died during the night except for Chance. He was syringe fed (forced feeding) for 2 days until he was strong enough to eat on his own.  He is steadily putting on weight daily and has gained more than Charlie and Chester now.                UPDATE: Chaz and Gracie have been added as playmates.  Charlie and Chester have been adopted.                   Contact Karen at: [email protected]
	Chaz        DOB 3/20/10 DSH neutered male orange tabby.        This little guy came out of the woods hungry and alone after his mother was hit and killed by a car the day before.  He is very skinny, and needs to gain some weight.  He has Chance and Gracie as his playmates.  He is ok being held and has taken to the other kittens quite quickly.  He seems to like having new friends to play with.  He can be a little shy at first, but once he knows you he's fine.           Contact Karen at: [email protected]
	Freda DOB appx July 2009, DSH lilac point siamese, spayed female, we got his litter when we responded to a "free kittens" sign by the road. The lady now has all her stray cats fixed, thanks to our local spay neuter programs for strays and ferals (via Space Coast Feline Network). This little girl is a quite shy but loves to be petted, if you can catch her! So, she hasn't really tamed up, and now that she is older, she is more skittish than ever. So we are looking to put her into a feral colony -- must be an indoor one.  If she goes outdoors, with her light coloring, she would be owl or hawk bait.  Her momcat was caught and tested for Feline Leukemia so we are all set.  Sibling to Freddy and Frank.     Contact Mona at: [email protected]
	Sedona     DOB approx Aug/Sept 2009 spayed female petite short hair cat with the tuxedo markings. She likes to be around people and will sleep with you if you let her. She is calm and somewhat reserved, but actively seeks out her human companions for head scratches and rubs. She tolerates other cats, but has not actively sought out to play with them yet. Probably just trying to get used to the new surroundings. Seems to be ok with the dog. She is very tolerant of being held and petted and does not struggle to get down. She likes to watch activity outside the window, but does not seem to want to get to the outdoors. 	Miley and Madison We would like to adopt these two together as they have been together since they were about three weeks old and have now bonded.  There are no other kittens in the home, so they have become inseparable buddies.            Miley: DOB appx 4/3/10 DSH neutered male flame point siamese mix.  He was found abandoned and alone behind a business on US1.  He had been eaten up by fleas to the point he had flea anemia.  He has been treated and is now recovered and flea free.        Madison: DOB appx 3/27/10 DSH orange tabby spayed female.  She was pulled from the county shelter to be a buddy to Miley, as kittens their age do better with others than by themselves.  She is very active and playful, and the more outgoing and vocal of the two.  Contact Karen at: [email protected]
	Spot  DOB appx Nov 2009. DSH black & white neutered male. Was dumped by his owner at the county shelter in the gate box outside. VERY loving and playful. OK being held about any which way. Great for kids! We pulled him because his time was "up" at the shelter and he would have been put to sleep that day at 5pm if we had not picked him up. He is a cutie, we made a special picture of his ears so you can see how they are half black and half white. An adorable kitten! 	Clooney   DOB approx July 2009.  DMH Maine Coon mix black and white neutered male. Hello, they call me Clooney because I make the ladies swoon.  I am handsome, sweet, attentive and let you know that your presence is greatly appreciated.  I love to be held, I crave attention, and I am very gentle with all of my people and cat friends.  I am a young cat so I do enjoy playing but my main focus is getting petted and held.  I’ll stop what I’m doing when you start petting me, I like to focus on feeling the love.  If you turn your back on me, I’ll gently tap you on the shoulder just to let you know that I am still here if you would like to pet me so more.  Besides affection, my other interests are: playing, treats, and toys (not necessarily in that order).  I loooooooooooooooooove treats and will play by myself with anything that even remotely resembles a toy;  balls, catnip toys, a piece of plastic, whatever, if it moves, I'm game.   I am extremely laid back.  I was rescued from the local animal shelter, they put me in a cage in the kill room with a cat I’ve never met, and I was fine with it even though I was suffering from a cold.  Luckily I was rescued by my foster mom who put me with another two new cats.  I get along with every cat I meet, even if they are hissy-pants, it doesn’t bother me.  Eventually, I win them over, that’s why they call me Clooney….. 	Storm        Approx DOB July 2009.  DMH Maine Coon mix brown tabby spayed female.        My name is Storm, I was rescued from the animal shelter, I was on the list to be euthanized.  I understand what they mean by "timing is everything."  I am a very young, beautiful Maine Coon mix, but I’m small like a mini-Maine Coon.  I love attention and I love playing with my housemate Clooney (see his bio for details).  However, I am a bit of a hissy-pants.  I hiss when I’m afraid or nervous and since I've had a very rough start, it takes me a few days to get comfortable and situated with new people.  That is why I am requesting a quiet loving home filled with someone who will protect me and that I can trust.  Once you win me over, I'll let you hold me like a baby, but I have to decide that you are not going to take me back to the shelter first!  It was very traumatic for me, but once I trust you, I'm a love bug. 	Macy and Malibu        DOB appx 5/1/10. These kittens were born on the street and their mom is semi-tame. The kittens are getting used to humans and doing great. They are very, very small and have lots of growing to do. Meanwhile we are working with them to get them used to all household noises, dogs, other cats, etc. They are doing very well.   Siblings to Marco, Magic, and McGee. Macy:  DSH brown mackeral tabby (skinny stripes) spayed female. Very sweet. In the picture she is only about 5 weeks old - what a cute age! Friendly and playful. She has a little bit of orange on her ears.  Malibu: DSH-DMH black neutered male. Looks like he will be a bit fuzzier than his siblings.  In the picture she is only about 5 weeks old. 	Marco and Magic        DOB appx 5/1/10. These kittens were born on the street and their mom is semi-tame. The kittens are getting used to humans and doing great. Marco: DSH grey mackeral tabby neutered male.  Magic: DSH brown mackeral tabby and white neutered male.  This little guy is the most challenging right now, but often they end up being the sweetest...we will see!! 	McGee and Seeci McGee: DOB appx 5/1/10. Sibling to Marco, Magic, Macy, and Malibu.  These kittens were born on the street and their mom is semi-tame. The kittens are getting used to humans and doing great. They are very, very small and have lots of growing to do. He is soooo tiny everyone goes nuts over him. McGee is outgoing, loves to be cuddled, and playful. Seeci: DOB appx April 15, 2010. DSH-DMH tortie tuxedo spayed female.  Oooohhh what a cutie-patootie she is!  We pulled her from the Eau Gallie shelter. Her brother had been adopted and she was hugging a stuffed toy in her cage for comfort. Just broke our hearts.  She loves to be held and snuggle. Then she wants to explore. 	Riley and Rainbow                    The person who had the litter was giving them away free in front of a strip mall.  That's always dangerous for the kittens, as you don't know what kind of home they will get or if the people who take them will provide proper care.  DOB appx 4/20/10.  Both are very sweet, and need a little time to adjust. Siblings to Rambo and Raider.              Riley: DSH black, neutered male. Riley purrs up a storm when you pet him!   Rainbow: DSH dilute tortie, spayed female. She is very sweet. 	Sabrina     Sabrina is a wonderful little girl born March 15, 2010.  She is a gorgeous, unique color, a black/smoke tabby spayed DSH.  She is the friendliest kitten you'll ever meet and LOVES to be with people.  She will follow you around and enjoys attention.  She loves to sleep with you and be held.  She likes other kitties and would probably be fine with a dog too once she got to know one.  She would be a wonderful addition to any family.           Contact Shannon at: [email protected]
	Ellie        My name is Ellie and I am an adorable black and white tuxedo kitten.  I was born March 15th, 2010.  I have a sister also available for adoption, named Sabrina.  I am a sweet little girl who loves to play.  I can be a little shy at first until I get to know you and would be best in a home without small children.  My foster home is very quiet, and I like that.  I do love people and attention and love to have my belly rubbed.             Contact Shannon at: [email protected]
	Azure and Sienna  DOB approx Jan/Feb 2010.  These two were found hovering over their mother, who was dead after being run over by a car.  They were brought to a local groomer's office who called PAWS to see if we could save them from the same fate.  At the office, they were curious about the dogs, so we think they'd do ok with dogs.  They're both in good health.  We will try to get more pictures and more of a personality update in the coming weeks as they adjust to their foster home.              Azure: DSH female lynx point Siamese (the one on the left).       Sienna: DSH female flame point Siamese.  She is a little more shy than her sister (the one on the right). 	Bucky            DOB approx mid April 2010.  DSH neutered male Abyssinian mix. This sweet and adorable kitten was rescued from death row at one of the county shelters.  He was picked up as a stray and dumped at the shelter, so we don't have any background info on him.  He is missing two toe pads on his left front foot from an unknown injury he had when he showed up at the shelter.  He is now fully healed.  He is enjoying playing with his two new buddies, Ellie and Sabrina.  We will get more of a description to come shortly. 	Nubbin' aka Nub   Dob appx march 2010 - DSH Siamese mix lilac point spayed female - manx!  She has a wedge shaped head and looks to be almost purebred.  Abandoned at the county shelter by her owners and pulled by our group to make sure she finds a home, she is very sweet.  She weighed in at a teeny 5 pounds at the vet when she was spayed.  We took her pictures right after her spay so she wasn't feeling so great.  We will get better pix soon.             Contact Mona at: [email protected]
	Patrick & Pattie        DOB approx end of April 2010 DSH black kittens.  This litter was pulled from the county shelter when their time was up.  Siblings to Candy Stripes.        Patrick: Neutered male.  Entertaining, likes to be held, and very playful.   Pattie: female.  She is still too small to be fixed and sent home.  She should be ready to be adopted by the end of July.        Contact Karen at: [email protected]

	Yosemite Sam DOB appx 3/31/10.  DSH black tux with white nose, male. Will be neutered in a few days. What a great personality! One of our foster moms saw him at the Eau Gallie shelter and put her name on his card in case he was going to be pulled for kill.  A few days later, he caught a very slight kitty cold, so they called us to come get him. Our wonderful transporter, Debbie, drove after work from Cape Canaveral to Melbourne, pulled him, and drove him back to the foster mom in Cocoa, then she drove back to Melbourne where she lives. What a great volunteer (we need transporters like this, please contact us if you are seriously interested in helping, sometimes it's short notice like this -- we have only HOURS to drive down and pick up an animal or it will be killed). Yosemite Sam does fine with dogs, he started playing with our dog within minutes!!  We can tell he has been around dogs before. As for cats, he just comes right in and there is no hissing or adjustment time. Would be great with kids. You can carry him and pick him up any which way, upside down, he doesn't claw or get scared at anything, this guy is fearless!!!  Whoever had him originally was a great home, he was well treated and not abused, it's just sad they had to give him up. Note my husband asked me why in the world I named him Yosemite Sam because he's black not orange!!! (the cartoon Yosemite Sam had red hair....well, I dunno...it fit, I guess because this kitten is such a little pistol...)            Contact Mona at: [email protected]
	Admiral            DOB approx early May 2010.  DSH neutered male orange Classic Tabby (swirls) and white....super sweet, loves to play, was dumped at the shelter.  No know history where he came from.  Contact Shannon at: [email protected].
	Kenny   DOB appx 5/1/10, DLH black & white tux male. We pulled him from the county shelter.  He had a kitty cold and was going to be killed. He was a little scared but we are working on that. His cold is much better.             Contact Mona at: [email protected]
	Gigi   DOB appx 3/1/10, DSH grey bobtail spayed female. Was at the county shelter and we pulled her because she had a cold and they planned to put her to sleep. She is SO sweet we took her in a minute. Our plan is to get her spayed 7/13. She is great with other cats, just gets along like she's always been there!             Contact Mona at: [email protected]
	Zeva DSH black and white female DOB approx May 28, 2010.  This poor little girl was left in a carrier in a cart at a local pet supply store, where there were 4 rescue groups they could have asked for help from.  After being there almost 30 minutes with no one around, she was brought around the store to see if she belonged to any of the rescue groups or customers and no one claimed her.  With no where to go, one of our foster mom's agreed to take her home to be a buddy to Zane, who didn't yet have a play buddy.  She is the sweetest thing, and loves to be held.  We can't imagine why someone would dump her the way they did. 	Zane Male DOB approx May 28, 2010.  DSH black and white with a circle on his tummy.    Zane came to my door with a neighbor kid with ulcers on his eyes. I was horrified and gladdly took him in. After treatment for a few days the ulcers were gone. But, he has some scaring. This has not stopped him one bit. He runs around playing like he had perfect sight. He is so funny to watch. He is non stop playing. Now he has a new friend to play with named Zeva who was abandoned at PetSmart. The older cats are relieved that he has a new playmate too. Nothing phazes this boy. He is very curious and sweet. He runs up to me and finds an arm or leg to snuggle under when I am sitting or squatting on the floor. 	Midnight   DOB appx 4/1/10, DSH black neutered male, very friendly and outgoing. Has all shots and ready to go!!  He was found in a neighborhood wandering and looking for food.             Contact Mona at: [email protected]
	Joey and Josey DOB 1/25/2010 neutered males.  They are also microchipped.  While they get along with other cats fine, they prefer to play and snuggle with each other, to the exclusion of other cats in the house, so they need to go together if possible.  They are being exposed to smaller sized foster dogs, so they should be ok going to a home with friendly dogs.  Joey: Russian Blue DSH mix.        Josey: Gray and white DSH neutered male. 	Raymond   DOB appx 5/15/10, DMH Seal Point siamese male, could be a Ragdoll mix.  Was a bit unsocial but coming around really fast. Purrs up a storm when you cuddle with him. Learning to play with the other kittens.  Has not been introduced to our dog yet...that comes later!  So far he has been wormed, vaccinated, and tested.
