Description:

Approx 2-3 year old male (dilute) red tabby Persian.  He is very gentle, soft and sweet.  Cameron is very friendly with everyone he meets. When you start petting him, he wags his tail, if you keep petting him, he capsizes and lets you rub his belly while he plays with his feet.  He purrs loud and hard.  He rubs on your legs, sits in your lap and when you pick him up, he buries his head in your arm.  He is gentle with children and would make an idea companion for elders.  He loves to play chase with the other cats and he has just learned what cat toys are all about.  He gets along with dogs that think they are cats, in other words, if the dog is cool with Cameron, he's cool with the dog.  He's a very friendly, very affectionate, quiet, playful cat.  Cameron just got his first dose of catnip and he is hooked!  He puts his nose in it and snorts like a little bull when you give him a fresh pile of 'nip.  Cameraon has gone on his first car ride, he was curious about the car at first then he settled into my lap and let me drive him around town.  He also went on his first beach walk.  He was very good about staying with me and when I sat in the sand, he would rub up against me and settle next to my legs.  He is a very good companion.

Cameron is looking for the perfect home; one filled with loving people who think pets are people too.  It's not that he wants to sit at the dinner table with you, it's that he lived a very isolated life, he needs attention and affection.  He would also like to find someone that likes to play ball.

UPDATE 3: I love all people and enjoy when they hold and pet me.  I am bouncy and playful and I have a mini-meow that I use when I want you to pet me.  I now let my foster mom hold me like a baby and when she rubs my belly, I play with my feet like a little kitten.  I love my roommates and I will chase them if they run from me but I will chill-out with them if they don't want to play.  I am the most huggable cat that you will ever meet, I'm so cute with my stompy feet, big golden eyes and little pot belly.  I still stick out my tongue if you scratch my back, head, belly, feet, whatever, if you scratch me I still snort and make funny noises.  I will sit in your lap but then I like to bounce around too.  I suddenly feel young, healthy and free.

UPDATE 2: I am now officially over my shy phase.  I come when someone calls my name, I love to be held and I will sit in a lap comfortably purring contently.  I am more playful and I am very laid back with other cats.  I can run and jump with no problems now, I'm fit and active and looking for a full-time back scratcher.  Know anyone?

UPDATE 1:  He has been groomed an neutered.  He can be adopted any time now.  He may go to a home with other cats because he gets along with others fine, but must be adopted separately from Norton because they don't get along with each other.

I had a very sad story as I was kept in a carrier and used for breeding for most of my life.  My back legs were weak, my hair was one solid mat and my poor tail was encased in one solid dreadnought.  Now that my tail is free, I feel SO good!  When my foster mom rubs my back, my tongue hangs out and I make funny noises, I can't help it, it just feels so amazing.  If she starts scratching my back, I immediately capsize so she can scratch my belly.  If she tries to take her hands away too soon, I'll use my paws to guide her hands back to my belly so she can complete her task.  Once she gets my purr motor running, my tail starts wagging and I rub up against any and everything.  It's a little embarrassing for me because I'm a cat, but I really can't seem to help it, my life is pretty good right now, the only thing that would make me feel better is my very own permanent home.

We have more than $800 in vet care alone for the six Persians we took in.  If you would like to donate to their vet bills, you can donate directly to Dr. Karla McCloud of Animal Hospital of Central Brevard, or see our website http://www.pawsfla.com for ways to donate to the shelter.
