Hello everyone, my name is Blackie (aka Tipsy) and I have a story to tell.
My mommy passed away and I was left alone in the house for quite some time before anyone found me. I was found unresponsive and presumed dead and rushed by my mom's friend to Island Animal Hospital on Merritt Island. They realized that I was still alive and began doing all they could to revive me. I survived thanks to all of their efforts.
The lasting effects of this ordeal are that I am a little ataxic or unsteady on my feet. Sometimes I hold my head a little tilted as well. I am able to get around well and know where my food and water bowls are and I am very good at using my litterbox. To all extents and purposes, I am just like other kitties, just a little unsteady at times. Because of my unsteadiness I do not even try to climb or jump up onto the furniture or counters (My foster mom thinks this is a good thing).
Just like other kitties, I am a little shy and fearful of new places and people. I warmed up quickly to my foster mom and now I come right out to greet her when she comes in my room. I purr when she pets me and am very content to lie beside her when she sits with me.
I would like to go to a home where I am the only kitty because I really do not like other kitties (my only shortcoming). My foster mom thinks that because of my handicap, I may feel a little more vulnerable.
And, also because of my slight handicap, I would need to be an indoor kitty only.
I was already declawed when I was brought to the vet clinic and have been spayed and am current on all of my vaccinations.
I would love to find my forever home with someone who would understand me and enjoy the love I have to give.
