Description: This very nice purebred Himalayan was found on the street and turned in at the county shelter. He was held for stray time and no one claimed him so we pulled him. He is a very nice guy, his pictures came from the county before he was cleaned up - he had mats, dirty eyes and nose from being on the street, and we are working to get all that taken care of..... We will get better pictures, too!!!
Note: the vet at the county shelter thought he was about a year and a half old. We will see what our vet says because we think he's about a year.
He only weighs 7 pounds, and his body conformation is exactly right for a Himy, so we are sure he is purebred. Aloha was a little shy right when he first got here.
UPDATE 3 days later: Wow, this guy really adapted fast. He's out and about and not a hiss to be heard from him (other cats hiss but he doesn't). He's very interactive, wants to be with his human, and follows you! (slight tripping hazard). We've cleaned his eyes up a bit and have some new pictures. We had to use the flash and his blue eyes turned red but you can see how awesome his coloring is, and his conformation, and his tail is very handsome!!! His name Aloha fits him well because he sure likes to say hello!
He saw our dog, a bassett, while exploring and was not quite sure what to do. He didn't run or hiss, he just kind of crouchecd and was unsure. This is a good sign that he will adapt easily to being with a dog.
As for his coloring, his face and ears show him to be almost a blue point, but his tail is not blue, it is more of a flame point tail. We have found out he is a lilac point as they have slightly orange-y coloring and will darken as they age.
