This very nice girl was dumped at the count shelter on Feb 7. She did her stray time but no one came to claim her. So we pulled her knowing the county shelters take in hundreds a month and don't have time for daily brushing of a persian.
The workers at the shelter said she is so friendly they had to hold her to get a picture because she just walks up to the camera or rolls over on her back every time!!!
We have pulled her and she is extremely matted so she is headed to the groomer tomorrow for a lion cut. We are also asking them to shave her tummy so we can look for a spay scar.
More info coming....
Update: we had her groomed - she now has a lion cut and you can see in the pictures she's a typical small build persian. We took her to the vet today because we noticed she has a broken canine on the upper left side, the vet says it is not urgent but it should be pulled during her dental (she's 3 years old so one should be done in the next few months). There is no urgency to the dental at this time. She weighed in at 6 pounds 5 ounces!! We could not find a spay scar so she must go for surgery even though we all believed she was already spayed, because most vets do this at the time of declaw. And she has never nursed babies, that is easy to see, so we are all surprised that there is no spay scar.
She is now settled in and resting without mats pulling the fur all over her body - she's comfortable!!
In her video we were trying to capture her loud purr!! Hopefully you can hear it...she's a sweetheart....
More updates to come...
UPDATE: Marina was NOT already spayed so we had that done. While she was under anesthesia, the vet also filed down the broken end of her fang (canine) so it is smooth and not rough on the inside of her mouth. This will be much more comfortable for Marina until a dental when the tooth can be pulled.
