We took this nice boy from the county shelter because he needed a special surgery on his eyes (they call the eye problem "entropian"). Otherwise he was going to be put to sleep. Toby had a problem with his eyelashes scrubbing against his eyes every time he blinks, so he needed a special surgery to correct that. He got the surgery 4/12. A great vet at Palm Bay Animal Clinic, Dr. Jen, donated the surgery.
Toby got his 3 eyedrops a day for 2 weeks then went back for stitches to be removed. He's all done and ready to roll!!!
This is one of our nicest cats. He just loves having his picture made, too! We got some good ones now that his eyes are done. The last picture of him (laying down) is BEFORE the surgery, what he would do is keep his eyes half closed all the time so he didn't have to blink as far and his eyelashes wouldn't scrub against his eyes as much....smart boy....now he keeps those eyes open!!!
His fur around his neck got rubbed from the e-collar he had to wear so he wouldn't scratch his eyes for 2 weeks. So we know his neck fur will grow back in soon. He is a handsome man even without it!
When Toby got home from having his stitches out and he just walked out of the carrier (he had been in a cage in another room). He was laying on the bar like he has always lived here, and had his pictures made..... Not a hiss at any other cat. The dog, however, he attacks regularly so we have moved Toby to a dog-free foster room. We suggest he not be placed in a home with a dog.
