Mozella was left at the shelter when her family moved away. Her name was Monster and they thought she was a male. :( She got very depressed and stopped eating. The folks at the shelter was trying to get her out to rescue before she wasted away to nothing. Unfortunately they had her listed as a 4yr old un-nuetered maled named 'Monster' Not a good prospect for adoption. But PAWS took her in, in hopes to turn her around and save her life. In the first week a surprise discovery was made. Moster was infact a spayed female! :) We very soon changed the name. She seemed to know her name or at least the sound of it So I tried a few names with her to see which ones she would respond to. She liked Mozelle. She is a very perceptive cat and seems to understand what is being said to her and around her. Believe me! I have to be careful what I say around her. It is not very often that you run across such a perceptive cat. I know cat lovers believe that all cats are to a degree more perceptive than most critters, but Mozella is extra perceptive. I am sure that contributed to the deep depression that she suffered when her family left her. She was a challenge but after much love and persisitance, she finally pulled out of her depression. Now she makes herself at home and I feel is ready for a new family of her own. She will sit on your lap and doesn't mind being held. She would love to sleep next to you at night as well. My dogs don't seem to phase her.She would probably be ok with older children. Oh, by the way, I call her Mozella now because I started to sing to her to pep her up. It sound it better than Mozelle. She does know her name.
