PAWS adopts out kittens in pairs, or adopts to a home with another young kitty (3 yrs or so). Applications for single kittens will not be considered, and due to the number of kittens in 2021* we will not be able to respond if you request a single kitten only.

*due to COVID & lack of spay/neuter in 2020, rescues are slammed with 2021 kittens.

Here is why we adopt in pairs -- this is the best article we have found to explain:

HERE IS THE BIO FOR "LITTLE BIT":

We got a text from a rescuer about two kittens who were found in very bad shape, covered in fleas and starving. A great volunteer of ours drove to pick them up and got them to us. Sadly the most frail one passed after 36 hours of dedicated care.  The other one is Little Bit, who weighed slightly more and survived.

As you see on the scale, she weighed in after a week of care at under 1/2 pound, despite the fact that she's 5-6 weeks old and should weigh 1.25 lb at this point.

She is eating like crazy!

You can see the comparison of size in the video - the kittens she is with are 10 weeks old. She should be half their size.

We were able to test her for Feline Leukemia - she is negative! She's also had a dewormer, and her first vaccine.

We will continue to post photos as she grows. We are uncertain when she will be ready to go to a new home, as her growth rate is very much behind the normal curve. Best estimate at this time is January '22.

STATUS: Little Bit is VERY skittish so we are working to transfer her to another rescue that has friendly kittens she can pal around with and learn from them how to play and get more socialized.
