Description: Sunshine was being fostered with her babies thru the county shelter. Her babies weaned and got homes. Sunshine was up for adoption but did not get a home, so the county was going to put her back on the street (yes, this is what they do now even with tame cats).
As it happens, she was going to be put back the Friday right before hurricane Irma hit on Sunday. After being indoors for 8 weeks nursing her babies.... now out in the rain.... Seriously!!!
So PAWS stepped up and took her (and several other cats as they were trying to clear the shelter before the hurricane).
The foster mom who had Sunshine is a dog rescuer. So Sunshine spent a few weeks in that home before some space opened up at Mona's.
Mona now has Sunshine (aka Sunny) in a kitty environment, and she is settling in after a couple of days. She lets us pet her but is not great at being picked up. We will work on that. Day 4 Sunny was actually approaching us for petting. This is great progress. She is also quite vocal!!!
We will get some new pictures soon!
