Here are some ongoing ways you can help us out.
If you would prefer to donate something besides money, here are some options that would help us out too.
Saturdays - Adoptions
We are at a local pet store every Saturday for adoptions!! Click here to see when and where our Adoption Events are. We do not know who specifically will be at an event until they arrive unless stated in their attendance record or you have been contacted by the foster regarding a request to send someone. You may also call our adoption hotline at: 321-795-6306. See you there!
Food or Litter Donations
If you wish to donate food, litter, or other supplies we will except anything at our adoption events. We are at a local pet store every Saturday for adoptions!!! Click here to see when and where our Adoption Events are.
Our preferred brand of cat foods are Purina ProPlan Adult Chicken & Rice formula or Nutro Max Cat for dry food and poultry flavors of Fancy Feast, Friskies, Purina ProPlan, or Meow Mix cups for wet food. Our preferred brand of litter is Dr. Elsey's Precious Cat followed by Scoop Away or Fresh Step. We do accept other brands of food and litter too. Everything gets used. Thank you!
Due to the economy, our foster moms are in need of dry food (please avoid store brands, thanks). The animals are fed, but donations are scarce. You can do a food drive at work! Contact Karen at firstname.lastname@example.org to deliver. Thank you!

If you want to donate (anonymously is fine) at any of the vets we use, that would be great... The reception staff will credit our account!
Dr. Karla McCloud, Animal Hospital of Central Brevard, 321-751-6007
Piedmont Animal Hospital, 407-880-7387, ask for Shirley (current outstanding balance for Bryce, Smores, Collier, and others is $800+)
Coastal Animal Hospital, 321-632-3800 (Coastal is the only homeopathic and the only chiropractic vet office in the central Brevard area as of now).
From vetdepot.com: Rebound Oral Electrolyte Solution (12 bottles a month). This can be dropped off at one of our adoption events.
What is a transporter? It’s a great volunteer who is responsible, on time, and can help us get animals from foster homes to the vet (and back), and supplies back and forth between foster moms in Merritt Island, Cocoa, Rockledge, Melbourne and Palm Bay.
Many of our foster moms work full time, so this is difficult for them to do around their work schedules. What will help is if a few folks can be “on call” for an errand. Often we need something simple done, like vaccines driven from one foster mom’s house to the other. Or to have kittens dropped off at the vet office by 8:30 a.m. for surgery, then picked up that afternoon and taken back to the foster mom.
Kitten season is upon us, so trips to the vet are increasing every week. We could use transporters a couple of times a week. Thanks!

goodsearch.com Do you know about goodsearch.com? This is a website that donates a penny to a charity (HINT!) for every legitimate search you do (every penny counts and adds up). It's just like similar sites such as Google or Yahoo and has it's own Toolbar you can add too. Purrs and Whiskers Shelter is one of the charity choices, just choose your charity, and start searching! THANKS!
Give to your favorite animal welfare organization and save on Purina® brand pet food!
This is from the May 22, 2012 event that PAWS was invited to at Park Maitland School for the 2nd year.
The 3rd graders have done a food drive for the past several weeks, and all the donated items were divided up between PAWS and 2 dog groups.
These students are awesome! Our foster moms have really enjoyed all the toys, treats, and supplies.
Angelina, Rosie, Aida, & Ginetta did a lemonade stand to help raise money to benefit animal shelters, and donated to PAWS.
A big thank you to the 3rd graders at Park Maitland School who did a rescue food drive and gave the cat food items to the PAWS foster moms! They also did a fundraiser and sold t-shirts. This is the third year (2013) for the school's third grade class to do this and we truly appreciate these exceptional children (and their ever-awesome teachers)!
